"Traummaschine" is the whole of side two of the debut album, 25:24, recorded in March 1971 at Star Studio in Hamburg with Conny Plank. No individual writing credits were found, so it is treated as a group composition by Göttsching, Enke and Schulze. Göttsching played electric guitar, vocals and electronics, Enke a Gibson bass and Schulze drums, percussion and electronics.
Göttsching's own 1970 account is the best guide to it: the basic sound dissolves into an electronic Nirvana which no longer allows identification of the instruments, in contrast to the more conventional first side. No chart history, video, covers or samples were found, and setlist.fm shows no performance in the shows read.
