African Woman
A Firin' in Fouta song that the Gazette heard beginning with a hint of cumbia.

African Woman is the second track on Firin' in Fouta, at 6:05. Simon Jeffes arranged the strings, played by the London Session Orchestra. The Gazette thought it the best song on the album, writing that it begins with a hint of bouncy Colombian cumbia but quickly becomes a blazing Afro-Latin stew. In 1995 it was paired with Gorel on a Mango single.
African Woman appears in 7 of the 12 logged setlists that list songs.
