Ill Communication

The third single from Ill Communication, released on 14 November 1994, it was recorded at G-Son in Atwater Village and at Tin Pan Alley. It loops Jeremy Steig's Howlin' for Judy, from the album Legwork, which Wikipedia dates to 1970 and one fan site to 1969. A Moms Mabley vocal clip appears after the second verse. One verse apologises for the group's past disrespect toward women. Spike Jonze directed the video.

Steig said he looked at the sample as winning the lottery. In the liner notes of the anthology, Ad-Rock described the track as just straight up hip-hop. It reached 15 in the Netherlands and 27 in Britain. Setlist.fm counts 308 setlists, the second most of any song.
