Ride Lonesome was released on 18 September 2026 through Iliad and Capitol, Beck's first album in seven years. The title single came out on 20 April 2026 and the album was announced on 15 July. In a five-star review in The Guardian, Alexis Petridis called it a stunning end to the heartache trilogy of Sea Change and Morning Phase.

Petridis noted that Nigel Godrich returns to mixing, the backing musicians from both earlier albums are back, and the orchestrations are by Beck's father David Campbell. He named the songs Bleed, In the Night, Run Away, Slow Canyon and Falling Through My Hands, and heard Nick Drake and his arranger Robert Kirby in the strings of In the Night. Beck suggested that the album took so long because songs were recorded, set aside for years and reconsidered, with a huge amount of material discarded.
