Feel to Believe is Orton alone, on vocals and guitar, and she is credited as its producer. She told the Guardian in 2026 that she was a fan of David Roback of Mazzy Star and asked him to produce her and play on her record. She flew to Oslo to meet him. She was shy about her guitar playing, and in the end she played the song for him as what she thought was a demo. He refused to play on it or do more. His production, he told her, was to teach her that she did not need to collaborate with anyone else.
Orton said that to this day, if she could capture live what he captured, she would. Roback is credited as producer on two other tracks on the album, Blood Red River and Devil Song.
