Boston, from Boston (1976)

Written by
Tom Scholz, Brad Delp
Released
August 1976
Length
4:44
Album
Boston

Scholz wrote it with Delp, the singer he had recently recruited. An early version, titled Shakin', dates from 1973. It came out as the B-side of More Than a Feeling. Scholz plays guitar, bass, clavinet and organ, Delp sings and Hashian plays drums. The lyrics are about music, parties and marijuana.

Paul Elliott of Classic Rock called it a flat-out, high-octane blaster and put it fourth on his list. ClassicRockHistory.com also ranked it fourth and praised the organ solo. Anthrax recorded it for their 2013 EP Anthems.
