"Before We Begin" is the third track on Haha Sound, 3:22, written by Cargill and Keenan, with Neil Bullock on drums. It was a promotional single in 2003 and did not chart. Stereogum calls it one of the album's sublime moments, feeling like drifting on a slow rotating Leslie speaker, with Keenan's vocal like a big quilt. No account of its meaning, covers, samples or live counts was found.
