Sherriff wrote Falling Down. It opened the Freefall EP in 1990 at 4:00, and the album version on Whirlpool runs 3:58 with production credited to Chapterhouse and Stephen Hague. Raggett called it a fantastic opener, with swirling, sweet vocals underscored by a punchy funk rhythm. A promo single of it followed in 1991. In July 1991 Sherriff said that Falling Down and Pearl used as much sampling as Curve did.
