Hank Williams' Ghost
The opening track of The Invisible Man, named the Americana Music Association's song of the year for 2007.
Darrell Scott, from The Invisible Man (2006)
"Hank Williams' Ghost" opens The Invisible Man (2006) and won the Americana Music Association's song of the year for 2007; No Depression calls it a rollicking number. Scott says he put Williams's name in the final line almost by chance, so it was not written as a tribute. Paste describes it as one of those early-morning, wondering-what-it's-all-about songs, about hurting loved ones and blaming Williams's ghost.
His electric band played it at the Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion in September 2023, and setlist.fm lists it five times. No chart history, video or covers were found.
