This Film's Crap Let's Slash the Seats
The debut, long tracks with a film in mind, and the home of the Sarah Cracknell vocal on Gone.
David Holmes, 1995
- Released
- 1995
Holmes's first studio album came out in 1995 and was reissued in the United States in 1998 with a bonus CD of remixes and B-sides. Three singles came from it: No Man's Land, Minus 61 in Detroit and Gone, which features Sarah Cracknell. Holmes described the album at the time as inspired by movies and film soundtracks.
The Daily Telegraph said it had dragged the techno album into previously uncharted waters. Pitchfork's Stuart Berman later noted that the 2010 compilation The Dogs Are Parading ignores the debut apart from Gone, which he called a trip-hop time capsule.
