No, No, No reached number 51 in the UK, number 83 on the US R&B albums chart and number five on the US reggae albums chart. It was produced by Sly Dunbar, Clive Hunt, Steely & Clevie, Geoffrey Chung and Dylan Powe; the studios and personnel were not found. AllMusic's Alex Henderson called it a respectable, decent effort, and Melody Maker's Everett True found it undemanding yet supremely satisfying; Music Week praised its delightfully understated style, and NME gave it three out of ten. Penn says it earned a Grammy nomination, which was not verified.
