The Layla Sessions: 20th Anniversary Edition
A three-disc expansion of the album: a fresh mix plus two discs of jams and outtakes.

- Released

- Producer
- Bill Levenson
- Type
- archival
Issued for the album's twentieth anniversary, the set puts the original tracks on the first disc, remixed in stereo from the 16-track tapes and remastered. The remix moved the bass to the center, where the original mix often pushed it to one side. The same mix was also sold as a single CD. The other two discs gather jams, including the one from the night Clapton and Allman met, and outtakes of some of the songs.
Three tracks appeared for the first time: "Mean Old World", "It Hurts Me Too" and "Tender Love". Bill Levenson produced, Bob Ludwig mastered, Steve Rinkoff mixed and Gene Santoro wrote the notes. The box reached number 157 on the Billboard 200. Robert Christgau graded it a B minus.
