Destiny Fulfilled

The trio reunited in summer 2004 and recorded the album within about three weeks, mostly at Sony Music Studios in New York, where every track except Through with Love was cut. The three members served as executive producers with Mathew Knowles and each contributed to the songwriting. Producers included Rockwilder, Rodney Jerkins, 9th Wonder, Sean Garrett and Rich Harrison. It is a concept album whose songs follow a woman's relationship from one to the next. Beyoncé said the title was deliberate, since the decision to part ways had already been made while they were making it.

It peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 and was certified triple platinum by the RIAA. Metacritic gives it 52 from 17 reviews. Lose My Breath and Soldier both reached number three on the Hot 100, Cater 2 U reached 14 and Girl 23. It earned five Grammy nominations, including Best Contemporary R&B Album. The group toured it as Destiny Fulfilled... and Lovin' It from April to September 2005. Alexis Petridis wrote that Lose My Breath has beats courtesy of a university marching band.
