Recorded in April 1980 at Chipping Norton with Pete Wingfield producing, it came out in June 1980 on EMI's Late Night Feelings imprint and reached number seven in the UK. The B-side was a cover of The Horse by Cliff Nobles and Co. The song is an open letter to a Robin, criticizing insincerity in the music scene. Rowland called it an angry song, and said Robin stands for a middle-class NME-type musician who quoted authors Rowland had not read. Pitchfork's Tom Ewing wrote that the verses turn into an angry, thrilling tumult of words.
