- Keeping the Blues Alive Records
Released in June 2020 on Keeping the Blues Alive Records, the independent label Joe Bonamassa and Roy Weisman set up for Dion and other blues musicians. The guests include Van Morrison, Jeff Beck, Paul Simon and Bruce Springsteen, and the liner notes are by Bob Dylan. The Guardian counted fourteen originals, among them a revival of Kickin' Child, with Billy Gibbons and Bonamassa among the guests. Dion released a video for every song.
It reached number one on the Billboard Blues Albums chart, with nine weeks at the top and 59 weeks on the chart in all. It also charted in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Canada and Australia. AllMusic named it its favorite blues album of 2020. The Guardian wrote that it does not sound much like his rock and roll hits or Born to Be with You, and continues the direction he began in 2006 with Bronx in Blue.
