The title stands for electronic body music and also for Editors and Blanck Mass, the name under which Power works. He had added production to Violence and became a full member in April 2022. The album went to number 10 in the UK and number two in Flanders and the Netherlands. Critics described it variously as pop, indietronica, new wave and industrial rock. It remains the only studio album to feature Power as a full-time member before his departure in 2025.
