The title track was one of the last songs recorded, after the album already had its name. The phrase is a quote from the television series The Fall, spoken by Gillian Anderson's character, and Apple summarized its message as to fetch your tool of liberation and set yourself free. Cara Delevingne sings backing vocals, chosen partly because her English accent matched Anderson's. The barking at the end comes from Apple's dog Mercy, Delevingne's dogs Leo and Alfie, and Zelda Hallman's dog Maddie. The song quotes Kate Bush's 1985 single Running Up That Hill.
Pitchfork called it the album's peak, a bildungsroman about fighting through a friendship, crying, and the secret power of a Kate Bush song. The Guardian described spoken-word delivery that falls into a supportive groove representing freedom, and Barton's review heard her half-singing over a makeshift orchestra of kitchen implements, dog bark and cat yowl. After the album came out, Anderson acknowledged the title by sharing a GIF of the scene on Twitter.
