Kline's first record with a full band, made in what The Current described only as an analog studio. Many of its songs came from her earlier Bandcamp releases, chosen because the band had been playing them live; she told Nylon that very old songs can become muscle memory. To Interview she said she wrote half the album when she was younger, and the rest on the same subjects from a more mature view. Bayonet put the share written from scratch at about half.
Four singles preceded it: Outside with the Cuties, Sinister, Is It Possible/Sleep Song and On the Lips. It reached 13 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart and 40 on Independent Albums, and scored 78 on Metacritic. Pitchfork gave it 8.5, with Kevin Lozano writing that her greatest talent was turning "minute-long songs into experiences". It made year-end lists at Pitchfork, Stereogum, Consequence of Sound, Paste and The Skinny. A remastered tenth-anniversary LP for Record Store Day 2026 added demos of Fool, Floated In and Tour Song.
