Masin sent Sub Rosa a demo tape, and the label suggested pairing Venice with London. His side, grouped on the label as Otto Prospettive Veneziane, runs to eight short pieces. Charles Hayward of This Heat recorded the other side, a single piece, with Martin Pavey. The cover is taken from Enzo Cucchi's 1983 painting A Painting That Barely Touches The Sea. Masin has called Hayward one of the best musicians he has ever met.
P-Vine reissued it on CD in Japan in 2016. Modern Classics Recordings, with Light in the Attic, put out a remastered edition in 2017 with notes on the tracks by both musicians, and P-Vine issued it again on vinyl and CD in 2022.
