Grid of Points is Grouper's eleventh studio album, released by Kranky on 27 April 2018. In 2014 Harris held a residency at the Ucross Foundation in Wyoming. A cold snap kept her indoors, and she wrote and recorded the songs over about a week and a half before a fever ended the work. Her own words for the result were that, though brief, it is complete.

The label feared that listeners would feel short-changed. Harris refused to add songs and told them the album was the complete idea and just happened to be 22 minutes long. Parking Lot was inspired by a desert scene in the film Zabriskie Point, and Driving by an image of tree-tunnels, people driving to a funeral and her own family. The album was announced on 8 March 2018 alongside Parking Lot, which Pitchfork named a Best New Track and NPR listed among its Songs We Love. Driving followed on 3 April. Rafael Anton Irisarri mastered the vinyl. Metacritic averages 80 from 21 reviews, and The Wire's critics' poll placed it 40th.
