Live 1990 documents the only appearance of the reformed band between the 1975 split and the 2005 reunion. Dave Stewart declined to take part, so Sophia Domancich, then a member of Pip Pyle's band Equip'Out, played keyboards alongside Phil Miller, Richard Sinclair and Pyle. The concert was taped on 30 March 1990 for Central TV's Bedrock series at a studio that also hosted a Gong reunion around the same time.
The set drew on the classic repertoire, with Share It, Underdub, Halfway Between Heaven and Earth and Didn't Matter Anyway, while a large part of it was given to more recent material. Pyle wrote Shipwrecked and Cauliflower Ears, and Domancich wrote Blott on the Landscape. The CD came out on Demon's Code 90 label in 1993, with Will Ashurst and Duncan Smith as executive producers.
