Released in Britain on Island as a 12-inch (12WIP 6701) and in Germany on Welt-Rekord, it was dedicated to Ian Curtis, and Wobble said marking the death of a special person seemed a nice thing to do. The title track was made in London, and the other three at Can's Inner Space studio near Cologne. Trouser Press praised the disciplined bass that gives the dark tracks their style and precision.
Virgin reissued all four tracks on the LP Full Circle, adding two long R.P.S. (Radio Picture Series) pieces that move radio samples across dub bass and drums. Head Heritage called the album one of the best editing jobs in music. Grönland reissued it in 2018 as part of its Czukay campaign.
