Earthwords and Music
His 1967 RCA album, with every song his own, including the first recording of "Gentle on My Mind".
John Hartford, 1967
Earthwords and Music, produced by Felton Jarvis, was written entirely by Hartford. Wikipedia's article gives 1967 in its infobox and 1968 in its navbox, so the year is unsettled; the studio and recording dates are not given. AllMusic's Jim Worbois gave it three stars, writing "Good stuff." The album holds the song that made his name, in the 3:05 version that opens its second half.
