Pigmy

His third album: acoustic songs with orchestral arrangements by Robert Kirby, a section of the London Symphony Orchestra and Rod Argent on keyboards.
Keith Christmas, 1971

Pigmy is spelled Pygmy on Discogs, but most sources use the form we do. A review lists Christmas on acoustic guitar and vocals with some electric soloing, Robert Kirby on orchestral arrangements, the London Symphony Orchestra, Rod Argent on keyboards and Fuzzy Samuels on bass. Christmas says the bass and drums were by Samuels and Conrad Isidore, who had recently played with Stephen Stills in Manassas, and that the whole session was arranged by Sandy Roberton while he just turned up on the day and sang his songs. The album has never been reissued as such, but most of it is on Timeless and Strange (2004). We did not obtain a tracklist with times; side one includes the ballad "Timeless and Strange", and side two three extended rockers.

Len at The Rising Storm called "Forest and the Shore" extraordinary, with swelling, Ligeti-like choral interludes.
