Smith plays electric and acoustic piano, Marcus Miller bass, Prophet-5 and guitar, Donald Smith flute and lead vocals on tracks one to seven, and David Hubbard soprano saxophone; Yogi Horton and Buddy Williams play drums and Steve Thornton percussion. The exact release date was not found. AllMusic's Richard S. Ginell wrote that little had changed in his music, pleasant, gently funky and spiritual, and the star rating differs between sources. "Never Too Late" was a minor hit in 1983.
