The third single from Arular was composed in London in 2004 as one of the last songs for the album. Diplo produced it, with additional production from Dave Taylor, who is credited as A. Brucker, P. Byrne and Wizard. Its drum loop comes from Deize Tigrona's funk carioca track Injeção, and its horns recompose Gonna Fly Now, credited to Bill Conti, Carol Connors and Ayn Robbins. Bucky, in the title, is London grime slang for a gun.

Its release and rotation on MTV Brasil marked the first time a funk carioca-inspired song had been played on mainstream radio and music television in Brazil. M.I.A. told an interviewer on the Arular tour that favela funk was seen as music of the poor, and that this was the first time commercial radio there had played that sound. Anthony Mandler directed the video in a desert. Pitchfork ranked the song number 215 on its list of the best songs of the 2000s.

Live

She played it on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on 3 May 2005, and performed it, along with Injeção, with Tigrona at the 2005 TIM Festival in Brazil.
