Jeguol Naw Betwa came out in 1978 on Mahmoud Ahmed Records, catalogue LR MA 10. By then censorship laws kept him from releasing on vinyl and he moved to cassettes. Mississippi Records of Portland reissued it in 2011.

Two of its songs, Fetsum Dink Lij Nesh and Bemin Sebeb Litlash, were later included on Éthiopiques 7. Ahmed is credited with the music of both, Menelik Wossenatchew with the words of the first and Girma Tadesse with the words of the second.
