Eblis Álvarez

Álvarez described it to the Guardian as a kind of journey from Argentina through to Mexico, and later told The Quietus it was an exploration of the global song, the music that grew out of the globalisation of pop after the Beatles. He researched that style in Colombia, Brazil and Mexico. Robin Denselow found everything from cumbia to reggaeton and Andean huaynos in it, with electronics, guitars and strings and a prominent cello, and wrote that it succeeds because it is tuneful, clever and enormous fun. He noted that when they play live the band is a five-piece but in the studio one man creates the sound. Soundway issued the LP as SNDWLP118 on 8 September 2017, with Álvarez credited as producer, recording engineer and composer.
