Released on 9 December 2002, Gossip Folks features Ludacris and was written with Timbaland. It peaked at number eight on the Hot 100, topped the Billboard Dance Club Play chart and reached number nine in Britain. The refrain samples Frankie Smith's 1981 Double Dutch Bus. A Fatboy Slim remix highlighted the chorus for the dance floor.
Dave Meyers directed the video, which premiered on Total Request Live on 2 January 2003. It is set in a school, with Faizon Love as the teacher, Ludacris as the principal and Darryl McDaniels of Run-DMC as the bus driver. A clip of Funky Fresh Dressed with Ms. Jade interrupts it. It ends with a mural for Aaliyah, Lisa Lopes and Jam Master Jay.
