Simply Thrilled Honey was released in November 1980 as Postcard 80-6, with Breakfast Time on the other side. Collins wrote it. Malcolm Ross and Orange Juice produced it, Calum Malcolm engineered it, and Ross played synthesizer and piano.
The labels were meant to make Simply Thrilled Honey the lower-case a side and Breakfast Time the handwritten capital A side. The pressing plant paired the labels the other way. An alternate version of the song is on The Glasgow School. Orange Juice are logged playing it 19 times.
