Domination

"Domination" is the sixth track on Cowboys from Hell, 5:04, credited to all four members, produced by Terry Date at Pantego Sound. Anselmo has said it was written in the practice studio and that the first take was used, because it is full of energy and very raw. It was among the first songs written for the album, with "The Art of Shredding" and "Heresy". It was not a single, and no video was found; nothing was found on its meaning.

It opened sets in 1990 and 1991. The "Dom/Hollow" medley debuted on May 31, 1992 at the Five Flags Center in Dubuque, Iowa, and was popularized by Official Live: 101 Proof, where it runs 3:43. It closed the December 2, 2022 reunion show as "Domination / Hollow", and was the tenth song at Download in 2024. Setlist.fm counts "Domination" in 269 setlists and the medley in 246. Loudwire ranked it second among Pantera songs, and Revolver 12th. Anthrax played part of it at a 2022 show for Dimebag's birthday.
