Metheny plays acoustic and electric guitars and guitar synthesizer, Mays piano and keyboards, Rodby acoustic and electric bass, Wertico drums, Marcal percussion and backing vocals, and Ledford and Blamires vocals. According to CJ Shearn, Mays co-produced, Rodby and Wertico were associate producers, Rob Eaton engineered, and Metheny used the Synclavier to sketch tunes before recording while Mays added a Roland JX-10. It was reissued in 2006 on Nonesuch, remastered by Ted Jensen. Shearn calls it a stone classic that remains one of the best recordings in the Metheny catalog.
