Pride is Phosphorescent's third album and his first for Dead Oceans. It was released on 23 October 2007. Wolves was used in the 2011 film Margin Call. Stylus Magazine named Pride the 12th best album of 2007, and Pitchfork gave it 8.0.
Pitchfork's William Bowers spent most of his review on comparisons to Will Oldham, then called the record a stunning, stand-alone album and singled out Cocaine Lights as a comedown song. He also named guests including Nat Baldwin, Annie Palmer, Jana Hunter and Liz Durrett. Amber Coffman, Angel Deradoorian and David Longstreth played percussion on Wolves, and a six-person choir sang on My Dove, My Lamb. Years later, Pitchfork's Jayson Greene described Muchacho as a daylight version of Pride.
