Roseland NYC Live was released on 2 November 1998. Most of it was recorded at the Roseland Ballroom in New York on 24 July 1997 with an orchestra conducted by Nick Ingman. On the original CD, Sour Times comes from the Warfield in San Francisco on 1 April 1998 and Roads from the Quart Festival in Norway on 3 July 1998. A PAL VHS followed the same year and a DVD four years later, on which every track was recorded at the Roseland. The video credits the New York Philharmonic, but none of the musicians were members of it and it is not credited on the audio album.

The DVD adds the videos for Numb, Sour Times, All Mine, Over and Only You, the short films Road Trip and Wandering Star, and To Kill a Dead Man. A remastered and expanded edition appeared digitally in late 2023, with CD and vinyl on 26 April 2024. It adds Undenied, Numb and the full Western Eyes, and swaps in the real Roseland versions of Sour Times and Roads. The original album reached number 40 in Britain, 9 in France and 155 in the United States.
