Halstead wrote When the Sun Hits, the seventh track on Souvlaki. It was recorded at The White House studio in Weston-super-Mare, with Martin Nichols engineering. Goswell has said that Alan McGee's rejection of the early material, when he told the band they had no songs, pushed them to write it and Alison. Solvent and Komeit each covered it on the 2002 Morr Music tribute Blue Skied An' Clear.
