Electricity

Released on 28 July 1997, it was the first single from the album. One CD carried an edit with live versions of "Take Your Time" and "All of My Tears" and an instrumental of "Cool Waves". The other CD added live versions of "Cop Shoot Cop", "Shine a Light" and "Electric Mainline".

Allison said Pierce sang the lead vocal standing in the drum booth at The Church Studios, with room microphones heavily compressed as they would be on a drum kit and an ambient microphone outside the door in the hall. For the mix, he used a microphone with headphones clamped to it to detach selected parts of an instrument and move them in the stereo picture, which he said helped dense tracks such as this one. He added that it was still one of his favorite mixes.
