"Phaedra" fills the first side of the album, 17:39, and grew from a studio improvisation; oscillators detuning as the equipment warmed up shaped its changes, and the sequencer takes the role of the bass. Baumann has said it was improvised from A to Z, recording and mixing included. It was used in the 2018 Netflix film Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, along with "Mysterious Semblance".
A Tangerine Tree release covers the November 29, 1973 Deutschlandhalle concert in Berlin, a RIAS broadcast from days before the sessions, and the June 1974 Victoria Palace concert is on the 2025 box set. We do not know whether our upload is the studio piece or a live one, and no play counts were obtained.
