Hannon wrote music for the sitcom Father Ted, and the tune accepted for the show was later reworked as Songs of Love for Casanova, with harpsichord in place of the original guitar. An earlier attempt that the programme-makers turned down became A Woman of the World. A French fan site traces the story to a request from Graham Linehan to Hannon, and says the theme was recorded at a cheap studio before the song was recut at a better studio for the album.
Ben Folds covered it on his EP Sunny 16 in 2003, and Peter Bjorn and John recorded it for Under the Radar's Covers of Covers album in 2022. Hannon also wrote My Lovely Horse and The Miracle Is Mine for the Father Ted episode A Song for Europe.
