Joel Dunsany wrote "Synthesize Me" for her shortly after she switched from accordion to Casio, and she calls it his signature song. The Quietus calls it a loved-up, no-fi Casio aria and quotes her saying it probably runs a close second to "Major Tom". Bandcamp Daily reports that Dunsany wrote the lyrics and guitar chords and she rearranged it for keyboard, his reaction being that he hardly recognized it but liked it, and describes it as a clairvoyant love letter about a relationship ending. A nightclub in Brighton is named after it, according to Vice.
It is on Greatest Hits and was covered by Burnt Ones on a 2015 split release with her, with her approval. Wikipedia says it plays over the closing credits of Sisters with Transistors (2020), which is not corroborated elsewhere. Setlist.fm counts 21 performances, tied for the most played.
