Raw Power is the fifth track on the album and runs 4:22. Pop played piano and tambourine on it and sang backing vocals, with Ron Asheton also on backing vocals. It was released as a single in Japan only. On the totemic title track, Stuart Berman of Pitchfork noted, Pop told listeners to dance to the beat of the living dead. Robert Christgau thought it and Search and Destroy voiced the Iggy Pop ethos more insanely than I Wanna Be Your Dog.
It opens Metallic K.O., in a 5:29 version from the 6 October 1973 Detroit show, and appears in 121 of the 246 logged setlists with songs for Iggy and the Stooges. The band added it to its sets in 2008. Guns N' Roses covered it on The Spaghetti Incident? in 1993, and Slash said Iggy simply liked that they had thought of the tune.
