Ulbrich plays lead guitar on a Gibson SG, 12-string, Bavarian zither and Hammond organ, Hoenig an EMS Synthi A and Vox Continental, Schwenke rhythm guitar on a Stratocaster, Guenther a Fender Jazz bass and live tapes on a Revox A77, and Rausch congas, drums, marimbaphone and timbales; Uli Pop plays bongos on "You Play for Us Today" and Peter Michael Hamel the Hammond organ. Guenther recorded local musicians they jammed with on tour, and the album is dedicated to Kessler. Strawberry Bricks gives other track times, so the timings differ by edition.
AllMusic's Brian Olewnick gave it four stars in 2011, while Sounds magazine called it in 1973 pretty, pleasant, unproblematic. Reissues followed on Spalax (1992 or 1993), Garden of Delights (2001), SPV and Revisited (2008) and M.I.G. (2019).
