Fireworks was the second single from Strawberry Jam, released on 5 November 2007 on Domino with an etching rather than a B-side. On the 2005 and 2006 tours it was called Allman Vibe. Pitchfork listed it at 35 on its top 500 songs of the 2000s. Richardson, in his review of the album, wrote that it fades in from For Reverend Green to form arguably the greatest back-to-back in the catalog, and said it is about the pleasure of simple things and how hard they can be to appreciate. Sam Hockley-Smith of The Fader wrote that the high moments of Strawberry Jam are extremely high and that Fireworks is the song that defines the record.
Between 2007 and 2009 it often stretched past ten minutes live, with elements of Essplode or Lablakely Dress, two songs from Danse Manatee. At the Manhattan Center on 20 January 2009 it followed Lablakely Dress. It appeared in the Channel 4 series Skins in 2007 and in an episode of HBO's In Treatment in 2010.
