Second Bad Vilbel was written by Booth and Brown and opens the Anvil Vapre EP, released by Warp on October 2, 1995, where it runs 9:45. It is also on the US two-disc Tri Repetae++. Chris Cunningham's first music video for Autechre was made for it; Wikipedia dates it 1995 in his biography and 1996 in his videography, and a re-edited version, 4:13, is on the 2004 Warp DVD compilation WarpVision and on the Gantz Graf DVD. The upload on hypersongs is probably either that video or the re-edit, and the runtime was not checked.
It was used in the soundtrack of the video game Hardwar, along with Clipper; the EP's Second Scepe is in Hardwar and Sleeping Dogs. A Sputnik Music review says it opens with harsh noise before settling into a breakbeat, and the producer DJ Perc, in an Electronic Beats feature, picked it as a favorite for its intensity and mournful pads, both seen only in search summaries. Setlist.fm counts two performances.
