Producer Ron Saint Germain had recorded the other vocals but not this one when H.R. reported to prison. At Lorton Reformatory in Laurel Hill, Virginia, H.R. got a job sweeping the floors, which gave him access to a pay phone, and he called the studio and sang the unfinished song into the receiver. In a 2010 interview he said he could barely hear the music but it was in his heart to sing that song. Pitchfork calls his vocals the most serene and melodic on the album.
Storm Large covered the song in 2014. The original also appears on the 2003 compilation Banned in D.C.: Bad Brains Greatest Riffs.
