Bebel Gilberto wrote the words and the music is credited to her and Roberto Garza. At 2:24 it is the shortest track on Tanto Tempo. In 2003 the television series Nip/Tuck used it as the theme song of its pilot episode, which Pitchfork later remembered as hinting at the wicked underside of beauty the show set out to probe, and called the song "ghostly, gorgeous".
