So Nice (Summer Samba)

Marcos Valle wrote it as Samba de Verão in 1964, with Portuguese words by his brother Paulo Sérgio Valle and English words by Norman Gimbel. Marcos Valle has said he was 21 when they wrote it in their bedroom at their parents' house in Rio, listening to Antonio Carlos Jobim, Roberto Menescal and Carlos Lyra, and that he and his brother were surfers. His recording reached number 9 on the pop chart in Rio that year. Walter Wanderley's 1966 instrumental reached the top 40 of the United States pop chart, and the song has been recorded by more than 180 artists.

Her version on Tanto Tempo runs 3:32. In 2000 it was used in the Globo telenovela Laços de Família, as the theme of the characters Camila and Edu. It opens the Montreux Jazz Festival recording from 2001, appears twice on the Bimbo's tape, and was part of her set at The Box in 2009.
