Atomizer

Cables first appeared on the Bulldozer EP, one of several songs drawn from Albini's rural upbringing. It describes the slaughtering of cows at a Montana abattoir. Trouser Press summed it up as a song about voyeurs at a slaughterhouse. The live version that ends Atomizer came from the B-side of a promotional 12-inch that Homestead issued, the one the label sold on the sly.

Cables was also one of four songs Big Black played at the Touch and Go reunion on 9 September 2006, alongside Dead Billy, Pigeon Kill and Racer-X.
