Convict Pool mixes covers with originals by Burns. Corona, by the Minutemen's D. Boon, is arranged with mariachi horns reminiscent of Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire, and Alone Again Or, a Love song with music by Bryan MacLean, is played with Nicolai Dunger and his band and flamenco handclaps. Si Tu Disais, with lyrics by Dominique Ane, was originally sung by Francoiz Breut. PopMatters called the EP worth owning in its entirety for songs like Sirena and Corona.
