Freefall was Chapterhouse's first EP, released on Dedicated on 10 September 1990, and it reached 130 in Britain. Its first track, Falling Down, became part of Whirlpool, and the other three songs resurfaced as bonus tracks on the 2006 Cherry Red reissue of that album. Ned Raggett of AllMusic called Falling Down a fantastic opener, with swirling, sweet vocals over a punchy funk rhythm, and picked Inside of Me for its near Sonic Youth-level rush of noise.
