Cypress Hill, 1995

Released
31 October 1995
Label
Ruffhouse, Columbia
Producer
DJ Muggs

Released on 31 October 1995 by Ruffhouse and Columbia, it was the first album with Eric Bobo as an official member. The group moved to darker, slower beats with a spooky edge. It peaked at three on both the Billboard 200 and the Canadian Albums Chart and sold a million copies in the United States. DJ Muggs produced every track except the fifth, which RZA produced, with RZA and U-God of the Wu-Tang Clan appearing on it. Sen Dog briefly left the band in this period.

Rolling Stone gave it three and a half stars, hearing a new and improved Cypress Hill sound that marked Muggs's progress. Q gave it four, noting Indian sitar and sloping, almost psychedelic bass grooves, and NME gave it seven out of ten, calling it sneering 90s hip-hop. The lead single was Throw Your Set in the Air.
